About American Lawn & Landscaping

In 2003 I hired American lawn and landscaping LLC to install a sprinkler system in my yard. That system has worked well without problems since then. This week we had a leak in the system and hired them again. I can only say that the high standard of work lives on. They showed up on schedule, talked in a competent and friendly manner to us, did a difficult job that involved digging through established tree roots, and repaired the leak, cleaned up and left. All this for a reasonable price. I commend this company for maintaining traditional American high standards of work. Five stars for sure.

I had a small job compacting a play area of decomposed granite (DG), and they were happy to help. David called right back, scheduled me for the next day, the crew showed up on time, did great work -- fast. It's refreshing to work with a company that gives it word and stands by it; didn't even complain that this was a small job! SPRING 2026: American Lawn and Landscape is amazing! I am so impressed with Dave, I never have to call him for seasonal water turn off or turn on. He contacts me to notify me when he'll be by to do it. I appreciate that so much! FALL: I was so happy to get a call from David today! I had been wondering when I should call to have my sprinklers turned off and he beat me to it! That is what I call great service! Thank you so much David! See you when it's time to turn them back on! American Lawn does an amazing job, their team is responsive and always on time… the owner David personally answers your calls and is always there to fix a broken sprinkler head, or pipe at a moments notice.. would recommend them every time!

My wife and I recently had pavers installed at our home in Reno. We decided to use American Lawn and Landscaping having seen their work and completed project at another home in our neighborhood. I spoke with that homeowner and they were very happy with the finished job. I called AL&L and made an appointment with David Hargrove (the owner) to discuss our paver project. Our project would be to remove all of our 25 year old concrete driveway walkway and courtyard (about 1800 sq ft).and replace with pavers. David was very receptive to our ideas offering suggestions, ideas and creative additions for our project. He listened to our ideas and more importantly addressed our concerns and was very easy to work with. When we had a clear weather forecast recently for several weeks he was able to begin the project and more importantly finish this very large project in just 2 1/2 weeks. He utilized several crews when needed to complete the job. They were flexible and attentive to our questions and some minor changes and additions during the process. The crew members were happy to address my questions and cleaned up the job site daily before they left for the evening. David would come daily to check on the job and would check with us for any concerns or questions we might have. He was always concerned with our questions and happiness. More importantly, he always answered our calls and texts with quick responses! When the paver project was nearly finished he made sure our drainage systems, landscape changes, drip and lawn sprinklers all worked properly. We were extremely pleased with the finished results, the project timeline and the professionalism of David and his company American Lawn and Landscape! This was not a inexpensive job to do so as a homeowner you want excellent work, responsive dialogue and ease of mind. I whole heartedly endorse this company’s work! I plan to have them replace our concrete patio in the backyard in the Fall.

The crew actually showed up early, worked quickly and efficiently and did a really nice job-all for a fair decent price. My wife and I wanted to beautify our front yard, and David Hargrove was the answer. For years the concrete driveway was spalling. At times we would receive notifications from our HOA. Eventually given the age of our children with one with a car and another three close to it, we decided to do the renovation. We met David of American Lawn & Landscaping after being referred by another reputable, Reno landscaping company. From the first day he was very personable and knowledgeable. He had ideas that went far beyond our scope of the project. To give you an idea of David’s attention to detail, our front gate, metal latch broke a couple years ago. He told my wife weeks before beginning the project, when he didn’t have a signed contract, he would have someone solder the latch onto the gate. We weren’t even doing anything to the gate or it surroundings. But on the first day of the project, he had the latch soldered. I had thought he was blowing smoke to get my wife’s business. I was wrong. David paid attention to all details. He was able to do everything we asked. We now have a beautiful front appearance. We have expanded our driveway so that multiple cars may be parked on the side. We have a beautiful side walkway so the resident landscaper doesn’t have to drag a lawnmower. What I liked most about David is he was always willing to make corrections or adjustments if warranted. It appears as if the quality of the pavers were poor. Many pavers were chipped. If the crew had put down damaged pavers, we would mark them, and they would be replaced. There were a couple delays in the job some of which were not David’s fault. But he was very patient and his patience made us feel comfortable that the outcome we desired would become a reality. We are not done with the front as eventually we’d like to redo the walkway, gate and courtyard into our home. David is young so he will be around years to come to help us and all other Renoites both near and far. We are so fortunate to have been matched with him, and we feel anyone who uses his services will be far better off than with another landscaping design company. Thank you!

Very happy with the team at American Landscape of Reno. We just moved here, and got a nasty-gram from the HOA to clean up the Trees, Bushes, and Weeds. They came and completed the work, really fast, and the communication was outstanding. Thanks again for getting us squared away so quickly!

David and his guys are great. They did excellent work, quickly. When the landscaping and irrigation job was done, David walked around the project with me ensuring they I was happy with the work. I have no doubt they if anything ever goes wrong, they will make it right.

Professional, honest, courteous, kind and hardworking are just a few of the words I would use to describe American Lawn and Landscaping. I hired David to address the issues I was having with my irrigation system and to spruce up my property with a long overdue cleanup. His team worked tirelessly for hours to make my property beautiful again. I wish I had before pictures so everyone could see the remarkable difference after the project was completed. I would highly recommend hiring this company for landscaping service. In today's world, it's always a toss up as to whether a company will meet our expected high standards. I recently started up my irrigation system and had a few issues. I called American Lawn and Landscaping this morning. David called back and set up an estimate appointment for this afternoon. He came, we discussed the issues. He replaced the vacuum breaker while he was here. My system is up and running. I am pleasantly suprised at how quickly everything was done. David answered all of my questions. I would recommend American Lawn and Landscaping.

American lawn reno is the best company for lawns and sprinklers in the business he cares about his customers and treats them with respect and really cares about his work in my humble opinion they are the best

David Jr came out to help with our sprinkler system. We were having issues with what we thought was low water pressure or a possible sprinkler valve issue. David arrived at the end of his very long day, fitting us in on very short notice. It was AMAZING that everything started to work perfectly when he began checking the system. It’ll be the last landscaper you ever have to “try out”. They did a full back yard remodel for me. I’m talking strip everything to bare dirt and build it back from the ground up. Grading, french drains, irrigation, lawn, trees, rock, and finally maintenance. Literally everything you could ever want. The owner, David, is always the one to answer my calls and has never let me down. Finally a company that actually does what they say they are going to do.
